THe cat is still taking antibiotics, but the wounds are healing nicely.

The problem is that he has NOT stopped wanting to fight, and he tries to sneak out every time we open a door. Yesterday he got out and we had to stalk him through our neighborhood to make sure he didn't meet--and fight--another cat.

Not how I want to spend my summer. I'm ready to sedate the darn cat to kill of that fighting instinct.Julia Buckleyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10270211923343731659noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-29204932.post-85467238071814048982008-07-03T13:18:00.000-06:002008-07-03T13:18:00.000-06:00I broke up a cat fight between my cat and my mom's...I broke up a cat fight between my cat and my mom's cat and got chomped by a normally sweet feline (my mom's cat). I ended up spending the night in the hospital after my hand swelled up into sausage fingers. Scary stuff.

Hope your cats and yourself are okay!Dana Fredstihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12802936840624512415noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-29204932.post-64472006724347519112008-06-22T21:45:00.000-06:002008-06-22T21:45:00.000-06:00Lorraine, mine looked like just a scratch, but the...Lorraine, mine looked like just a scratch, but the vet said, "If you don't get that treated you're going to have a hoof tomorrow." That scared me enough to go in. :0

Eric, thanks for asking. :) We're okay. I've learned a lesson and have a much lighter wallet, but we're still in the dark about the cat's attacker. Our latest theory? A hawk.Julia Buckleyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10270211923343731659noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-29204932.post-52550492067160589732008-06-22T21:19:00.000-06:002008-06-22T21:19:00.000-06:00Sounds like I had a much better weekend than you d...Sounds like I had a much better weekend than you did. Hope you and the cat are both OK. My grandmother's cat was attacked by dogs once. He survived but it was a nasty business.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-29204932.post-6842757095093635432008-06-22T18:31:00.000-06:002008-06-22T18:31:00.000-06:00I learned about cat bites while trying to break up...I learned about cat bites while trying to break up a fight between two of my own. Within 12 hours, my thumb had swollen double and was starting to turn black. I wasn't going to do anything about it, but a co-working said, "You ought to go see someone about that.

Yup. Tetanus shot and everything. My thumb was numb for over a year. I can still feel the scar.

Otherwise, they were both really loving cats--to humans. They were just not destined to live together.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
