Mysterious Mountain Journey

Someone sent me this via e-mail; I find the footage amazing, but also mysterious. How was it filmed? That is today's mystery. Check it out and tell me what you think.

Whoa! Vertigoey! The hiker is using a steadicam to shoot the ruin, but my question is how was it built!?!

But what about those huge gaps that he seems to fly over? How is that done?

And I've never heard the word "Vertigoey," so I think you have coined it. I kind of like it.

Crazy. Notice there are only boys who have given their mothers gray hair early are up there.

He is leaping like a goat!

No kidding--I wouldn't let my kids anywhere NEAR that place.

And how is he not losing his balance, especially while holding a camera?

Oh this made me ill.
It also made me wonder how (and who) took all the cement and stuff to make the path up the hill, mixed it, and formed stairs.

Are you going to ell us where this was filmed?

I have no idea, Ilana, but it says "El Camino del Rey." I'll have to google it and see.

Yeah, I wouldn't go up there for a million dollars, I kid you not.

It had to be a head cam - they other people he passed were wearing some climber's gear. The music was very appropriate to the video. As for crossing those large gaps, you've got me - he did seem to be going rather quickly across some areas - but maybe that was postproduction - lol.

What an awesome video though - E :)

You're right, Elysabeth--I think some interesting things were done in the editing room, but it doesn't change the amazing view.
